The Southport Street-Cambridge Street link at Leederville Station has been re-opened after being rebuilt.

The section opposite the station exit ramp was closed while the bus terminus was built and riders had to negotiate the narrow footpath on the eastern side of Southport Street and the northern side of Cambridge Street — including the bus stop and shelter.

Riders heading west from the city or West Perth can get to NW23 and NW9 by using the path on the western side of Southport Street to Lake Monger Drive, dodge the traffic light crossing by turning left on to Vincent Street West and following the path across the park, across Kimberley Street, along the slip road to Northwood Street, across to the new path through the path and on to the slip road to Gregory Street, across Lake Monger Drive on to the new Principal Shared Path parallel to Gregory Street to Dodd Street.

The average delay at the traffic lights to cross Lake Monger Drive in the afternoon peak-hour was just under five minutes in a survey done last year.  The longest delay at Gregory Street in the same survey was 30 seconds.
