Perth station shut this weekend, trains halted

The West ran an article today reminding us that the Perth Station will be closed this week-end:

Perth Train Station is set to shut down for three days this weekend for work on the Perth City Link project.

The station will be closed from 10.30am on Friday to the last service on Sunday night, affecting the Midland, Fremantle and Armadale-Thornlie lines.

All trains will stop from 8pm on Sunday until midnight.

Additional information on this closure available on TransPerth website:

From Friday 17 August until first service Monday 20 August 2012, Perth Station will be closed. This closure will have a significant impact on the Fremantle, Midland, Armadale, and Thornlie lines.

There will also be disruption to the Joondalup and Mandurah lines, however this will be limited to Sunday evening and the Mandurah Line shuttles to the football. Please click on relevant the tabs below for more information on how your services will be affected.

This disruption will have a significant impact on travel to and from the Fremantle v Richmond football match on Saturday 18 August. Please click the AFL tab below for alternative travel options to the game. This will affect travel on all train lines.

When Perth Station reopens on Monday 20 August 2012 there will be significant layout changes. These changes will affect the Fremantle, Midland, and Armadale lines. There will also be new timetables for these lines. The layout changes will not affect the Joondalup Mandurah or Thornlie lines.

From Sunday 19 August there will be time changes to a number of Transperth bus services. These changes will coincide with the changes to the train timetable. Please click on the tab below for more information on how your services will be affected.

This Friday should be renamed Ride to Work Friday.
