Bin there — hit that

Extra hazard: Wheelie bins in a cycleway in Sydney.

Cyclists commuting run the gauntlet of an extra hazard one day a week in the Sydney inner western suburb of Burwood – wheelie bins.

Householders in Lucas Street have to put the bins where the garbage truck can reach them because the hydraulic arms cannot go over the top of the parked cars.

Most houses do not have driveways – they were built when owning a motor vehicle was a distant dream for the people who lived in the area.

It is a common problem in a lot of older suburbs.
