The Shadow Minister for Transport Ken Travers and Labor Leader Eric Ripper and other members of parliament rode to the Hutton Street cycling problem area. The BTA was there to add their support to the importance of more spending for cycling infrastructure.

The office of Ken Travers issued a press release condeming the lack of progress on cycling infrastructure, pointing out that the dangerous cycling environment on Perth roads was deterring people from using bicycles to go to work, school, shops or train stations.
