The Perth Bicycle Network (PBN) Monitoring project assesses the effectiveness of the PBN program on cycle usage and compares the study with previous monitoring surveys. User surveys have been done annually since 1998.
The PBN Usage Monitoring Survey involves measuring bicycle traffic and some pedestrian traffic at 71 locations throughout the Perth metropolitan area. The data is used as a comparison against the previous monitoring survey data, which continues to develop usage trends on selected PBN routes.
The page has been updated to include 2010 data.
I returned to cycling over 4 years ago, when I decided to start commuting by bike to work. I'm now cycling around 15,000km's annually, and love it.
I would like to see cycling participation measured at the same time, i.e. a comparison of car trips, Public Transport Trips and Cycling Trips.
