Subiaco underpass collision

This weeks issue of Post Newspaper (5/2/2010), apart from a front page story about a cyclist colliding with a pedestrian, has two letters from cyclists involved in the head on collision between cyclists that featured in the previous week, one of which is written by the ‘other’ cyclist who in all previous stories, seemed to have been completely over looked.  The letters are quite sympathetic, but correctly point out that the path under Haydn Bunton Drive has a wide variety of users, and regardless of design, should always be approached with caution.  The damaged chain link fence, with one support pole pulled out of the ground, is a clear indication of the speed of impact – I doubt the cyclist would have lived if he had hit one of the concrete bridge supports.
